Nashville Flood Relief Spring Break 2011
Wesley students and friends from Cullowhee Methodist Church went to Nashville, Tenn. over Spring Break 2011 to work on houses that were flooded in August 2010. They tiled a basement floor, installed windows, moved furniture, cleaned up debris and made repairs at the camp where they were housed for the week.
Student Comment:
It was one of the most wonderful trip’s that I have ever had in my life. It was amazing to try to make a difference in someone’s life and offer help without asking for anything back. The trip has affected me in so many ways. We were different groups. Some of us were students and other were volunteers. We came from different backgrounds and different beliefs, and what was really amazing was that we were helping each other and working together on the same goal which was to make someone’s life better. I made wonderful friends. They have been helpful, friendly and nice. I am grateful that I had a chance to participate in such an amazing trip, and I will never forget it .
